Graduation

Foreward From the 1961 ANNONA

"For the theme of the 1961 ANNONA the staff  has chosen the memorable lines from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 'A Psalm of Life.'

"We can make our lives sublime
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time."

"In these few words, Longfellow has not only given us the theme for this year's ANNONA but he has given us at Pensacola High School a philosophy of life upon which we may build our future.

"In essence what he has said is simply this:  no one is ever born who does not leave behind some amount of influence - whether good or bad, large or small in amount."
